Asbestos Removal Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor to join our team based in Tokanui. This is a hands-on role where you will carry out asbestos removal work while acting as the nominated supervisor onsite. You will play an important part in an environmental restoration project on historically significant land.

What you’ll be doing

  • Carrying out asbestos removal work safely, efficiently and to a high standard
  • Acting as the nominated Asbestos Removal Supervisor onsite
  • Ensuring all work complies with the approved Asbestos Removal Control Plan, Protranz procedures and WorkSafe requirements
  • Leading daily pre-starts, completing equipment checks and maintaining required site documentation
  • Managing exclusion zones, decontamination controls and PPE requirements
  • Ensuring asbestos waste is correctly packaged, labelled and prepared for disposal
  • Communicating effectively with Protranz management, clients, consultants and assessors
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised work area

What you’ll bring

  • Current WorkSafe approval as a nominated Asbestos Removal Supervisor
  • Eligibility to be added to the Protranz asbestos removal licence
  • Strong hands-on asbestos removal experience, supported by relevant removal and supervisor qualifications
  • Proven capability in both Class A and Class B asbestos removal
  • The ability to work independently, lead by example and take ownership of onsite delivery
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills
  • A full New Zealand driver licence
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand
