Protranz is focused on making our operations more sustainable and has put in place some concrete actions and measurable commitments to help us get there.
We’re proud of our progress, but that’s not where it ends. We’ll continue to search for new ways to protect our environment and ensure a sustainable future for our industry and the communities we serve.
A greener fleet
By investing in modern, fuel-efficient machinery and maintaining rigorous emission standards across our fleet, we’re taking practical steps to reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining operational excellence.
At the heart of our operation is eRoad, an advanced fleet monitoring system that helps us track and optimise our environmental impact. Our current fleet averages 3.49g NOx emissions per kilometre, and we’re actively working toward reducing this to 3.00g/kWh by 2026 through the introduction of EURO 6-rated vehicles and phasing out older trucks.
Minimising waste
We take responsible waste management seriously. Our team meticulously sorts and segregates materials into cleanfill, recyclables, and contaminated waste streams, ensuring each receives optimal treatment for maximum resource recovery.
Our commitment to sustainability is perhaps demonstrated in our concrete recycling programme, where we routinely salvage and repurpose up to 80% of excavated concrete directly back into our construction projects.
