Protranz Earthmoving Ltd was founded in 1997 – almost thirty years ago!
Since, then we’ve grown and evolved, taking on a wide range of projects. 2024 signalled a change in ownership, with Shaun and Rachel Coakley now paving the way forward. As a team, we’re passionate about horizontal infrastructure, demolition, asbestos removal, and transportation, and we have proven our worth ten times over when it comes to lending a hand in emergencies.
Innovation is at the heart of what we do. We pioneered the use of remote-controlled excavators, first in the Port Hills Residential Red Zone and then for clearing slips after the 2017 Kaikoura earthquake. We also converted a concrete truck into a 5-axle tipper, a first in New Zealand, to boost productivity on sites with access challenges.
We started small, but our once-little company has grown steadily over the years, and we now operate nationwide. We’re proud of our dedicated team who share our commitment to excellence.
